Our
Story

Our Legacy Care Donations

Our Legacy Care Donations is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the gap in elder care by providing financial support to seniors who cannot afford private in-home care. Through donations, we help fund essential caregiving services—such as assistance with daily living activities, post-surgery recovery, transportation, and more—ensuring that aging individuals can remain safe and comfortable in their own homes. By partnering with licensed, bonded, and insured home care agencies, we connect seniors with trained caregivers who provide compassionate support. Our mission is simple: no senior should have to go without care due to financial hardship.

The Future of Elder Care

Rates have climbed considerably in recent years, a trend that looks to accelerate over the next several years. If projections hold, the monthly cost of a semiprivate room in a nursing home will be over $10,000 by 2030, an increase of about one-third. For private rooms, expected annual costs already have passed the six-figure mark (seniorliving.org). Below are some stark realities that need immediate attention, whose needs will only continue to increase:

Only 14% of Seniors Can Afford In-Home Care
A recent analysis indicates that only 14% of American seniors can afford in-home care services.
80% of Older Americans Are Financially Insecure
A study by the National Council on Aging found that 80% of older Americans are unable to sustain a financial shock, such as needing to pay for long-term care services.
The 85+ Population Will More Than Double by 2040
The population aged 85 and older is projected to more than double from 6.5 million in 2022 to 13.7 million in 2040, significantly increasing the demand for elder care services.
34.2 Million Americans Provide Unpaid Care to Adults Over 50
Approximately 34.2 million Americans have provided unpaid care to an adult aged 50 or older in the last 12 months, highlighting the reliance on family caregivers.

Why Donate to OLCD

Helping Seniors Who Fall Through the Cracks

Many seniors need in-home care but don’t qualify for government assistance and can’t afford private caregiving. OLCD fills this gap, ensuring those who are most vulnerable receive the support they need to live safely and comfortably at home.

Founded by Caregivers, for Families

OLCD was created by people who have firsthand experience caring for aging loved ones. We understand the stress, the financial strain, and the overwhelming need for quality care. Your donation directly supports an organization built by those who have been there—so we know exactly where help is needed most.

Immediate and Transparent Impact

Unlike large organizations with overhead costs, OLCD directs donations straight into action. Funds go toward covering caregiving hours with licensed, insured home care agencies, providing immediate relief for seniors and their families in need.

A Community-Based Solution

We don’t just fund care—we build a network of support for seniors, families, and caregivers. By working with existing home care agencies and engaging local communities, OLCD creates a sustainable, long-term solution to a growing need for elder care.
